Karen Foster-Anderson
Karen is a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and a Certified Nurse Midwife with more than 30 years of experience of caring for women and their families.
She is very excited to be a founding member of the Center for Midwifery and Women’s Health!
After receiving her Master’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, Karen worked in an outpatient setting providing prenatal care and GYN care to women in Northern Virginia. After several years, she pursued her dream to become a Nurse Midwife, earning her Certificate of Midwifery from the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing, in Hyden, KY.
Since then, Karen has delivered more than 2000 babies in Northern Virginia and West Virginia. Her passion (and joy) is to help women have the birth they desire and witnessing the power of women as they grow their families. She also continues to provide Woman centered GYN care to meet her patient’s personal needs.
Karen is a proud mom of 3 grown young men and 2 fur babies and enjoys family time and beach getaways!
